Helping my dad build cabinets this summer has kind of helped me understand why Jesus worked in a carpenter shop with His dad. It was so it could never be said that He had an easy life, free of stress and strain. I'm sure the shop was the same then as now: a severe test of the moral fiber when things didn't operate smoothly. Especially if Joseph was anything like my dad! :P What I'd like to know is how He stayed there until He was thirty...without ever loosing His self-control! Not even silently inside...or even by a grimace or a frown. Must have been compliments of His divine power, i.e. divine connection. Definitely defied the
human tendencies to retaliation or escape.
