Nostalgia: it's one of those things you don't know whether to bless or curse. It's wonderful to be able to conjure up delightful sensory images...unless you soon realize you can't enjoy them for real. Grrrr. I want to go camping. Go wakeboarding, kneeboarding and tubing. Build castles in the sand. Take unsuspecting people for rides on the wave runner. :) Play volleyball on the beach. Or just sit in a chair by the lake and chill: driftin' with the breeze. Canoe under the stars, chasing moonbeams. Sit up late talking and eating smores by the bonfire. Hear the crickets sing. Out-sing them with my brother, cousins, and anyone else who cares to join in. Sprawl in the cool grass and gaze up at God's music in the skies: the silent song of the blazing Milky Way. Sack out in the tent. Sleep in. *big yawn*:) Inhale the crisp morning air. Camp air. The blending aromas of pine, wet grass, and wood smoke....and of course the food! Ah, the food! Camp cuisine definitely ranks among the best. Probably in part by virtue of how good the rest of camping is... Ahhhh! I'm having withdrawals.
