My apologies to the faithful few, who, I flatter myself to believe, have been greatly disappointed at the dearth of entries as of late. Unfortunately, my reservoir of creativity, when excessively tapped (which doesn't take much) ceases to produce satisfactory material. It's like trying to generate electricity from turbines operating at quarter speed: starts knocking out the brainlights. If I'm not careful, I get so drained that I have to start using reserve "power to power the power plants," as it were, to use a George Bushism I heard recently. The outcome tends to be anything but brilliant. (Prime illustration right here.) You know it's getting bad when you have to rely on quotes for all your clever lines. Especially if they're G.W.B. quotes. It's all about being original. "As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, 'I hate quotations.'" Except, of course, for when I don't. In closing, one more line from our fine president: "Is our children learning?" he asks. Apparently not--and it's plain to see someone is headed into his second childhood--all due respect to the president of course.
Sometime I might post some of the things I'm having to write for class.
